If you are visiting this City Page, you are either a resident of Belvidere or contemplating a move here. Having lived here for a great part of my adult life, I can attest to the positive aspects of living in this great ‘little’ city and enjoying its natural beauty and well-defined small town aspects. We have a form of government that is unique in this day of ‘bedroom community’ uprisings..we actually have a full-time Mayor that is a native son, and is responsive to ALL of the city’s residents, a newly opened local hospital, retail center in the downtown area with unique specialty shops as well as a shopping center with major chain stores on the edge of town. Our parks and rec centers are second to none, with the Kishwaukee River rolling through town for boating and fishing enthusiasts. In short, Belvidere is a GREAT place to live!
